I thought I would share some thoughts on jeans today as I felt wearing one. I like jeans and wear some some days when I feel being more casual or relaxed. Some other days like today I even like to pair my jeans with some heels and top for some drinks. That’s why I thought sharing when I wear jeans and how I wear them to elevate my style.

1 – Don’t wear jeans for the wrong occasion

Jeans are some sort of casual wear. It is definitely possible to elevate it. However, I would never wear a jeans at a venue such as a cocktail event or a fine dining restaurant. On the other side, I do wear jeans for a drink out after my work day with a little heel and I feel it can look great.

2 – Avoid ripped jeans

Ripped jeans are quite tacky and nonchalant in general so I would not really opt for these types of jeans. I would never wear this type of jeans for formal settings.

3 – Look at the jeans color

Jeans that makes a look cheap generally have something to do with the color. Typically the most common jeans color is some sort of blue. It is the one worn by everyone out there. So talking about colors I feel the most expensive looking one are dark-coloured jeans, white jeans and some sort of classical blue but avoiding the unwashed style.

4 – The jeans cut

We often think about skinny jeans when referring jeans because for most body shapes it tends to make us look bulkier and shorter. Skinny jeans are great for long and slender legs because it doesn’t make them look shorter as it does for other body shapes. Some other cut that tend to not be so flattering are boyfriend jeans and mom jeans because these are not giving a shape to our body. Instead, they are either loose or like a diaper for some models.

5 – Look at the shoes you pair with

Looking at the shoes department, jeans worn with flats, sneakers or short boots tend to cut off the leg which makes us look bulkier than we actually are. That’s why jeans can give us such a great silhouette if paired with the right shoes.

Especially Flare long jeans worn with heels look quite elegant because it gives this appearance of long legs. This makes you look taller because the heels are hidden under the trousers which create an illusion of long silhouette. Some other way to pair jeans with shoes is by opting for riding boots in a similar tone as the jeans as this tend to not cut off the leg and look expensive. This type of outfit is perfect for the countryside. Straight leg trousers also elongate the legs and to emphasise the elongation, pair it with a pair of pumps.

6 – Wear high waisted jeans

Once upon a time low waist jeans were a big trend and they came back in trend recently. However, I feel when choosing your jeans cut opting for low waist is not the most flattering cut. It makes us look shorter, divided in two parts and bulkier than we actually are. The same is sometimes valid for medium waist jeans. That’s why I feel high waist jeans are really the best to opt for because they elongate the silhouette and the legs which makes us look way better.

These are my general tips and thoughts. Of course, this is not valid for everyone and every jeans but this is a general talk so feel free to share your opinion.
