Ah, we already entered in the sun-kissed summer era since a while, and what better way to embrace it than with a delightful boat trip? Whether you’re cruising along serene waters or sailing the open sea, staying elegantly stylish while on board is something every woman is concerned about. In this post, we’ll dive into the art of nautical elegance, helping you curate the perfect boat trip wardrobe that seamlessly blends comfort, practicality, and timeless charm.

1. Choose The Right Clothes

Opt for lightweight, breathable fabrics like linen, cotton, and chambray. Flowing maxi dresses, loose jumpsuits, and wide-leg pants are fantastic choices that keep you cool and exude elegance. Consider off-the-shoulder tops or dresses to showcase a hint of sun-kissed skin while remaining sophisticated. Some simple knit beach dresses can also be the perfect outfit for a boat day. Opting for shirt dresses or long dresses is definitely the perfect clothing for boat as it can cover you from the sun that hits really hard on a boat.

2. Carry Beach Coverups

Especially when you are not swimming, wearing a beach cover up such as a pareo or a linen shirt is definitely elegant. There is obviously nothing wrong to stay in your bikinis. Wearing a beach cover up is just a general advice to be and feel more elegant whenever you are sailing on a boat. It embraces the feminine silhouette and shows so glamour depending on what you opt for. You can find more on how to be elegant in bikini in this post.

2. Embrace Nautical Palette

Sticking to classic maritime colors like navy blue, white, and various shades of blue and white stripes is quite elegant and refined. These hues evoke a sense of seaside charm that’s perfect to be classy for a boat trip. Mix and match your nautical palette to create chic combinations that are easy on the eyes. Sometimes less is more, you don’t need to overthink about it so much.

3. Functional Yet Chic Accessories

Opt for accessories that are comfortable and won’t hinder your movement, like oversized sun hats, sunglasses, and delicate scarves. A statement raffia belt can elevate a simple outfit, defining your waist and adding a touch of flair. Also consider bringing a beach tote bag to complement your look and keep your essentials with you.

4. Footwear Off

The common rule is that footwear is prohibited on the deck. Personally, I feel sometimes having the shoes off tend to ruin a nice outfit making it not so elegant. The rationale behind this rule lies in the preservation of the wooden deck, which is entirely understandable! That’s why maintaining a great pedicure is key. Another advice is to always think about wearing an outfit that fits well without any shoes.

However even if we generally avoid wearing shoes on the boat, you still need to opt for some when you get out of the boat. Choose comfortable, slip-resistant shoes such as espadrilles, boat shoes, or strappy sandals with a low heel.

5. Layer Thoughtfully

Light layers are key on a boat, as the sea breeze can sometimes be unpredictable. A lightweight cardigan to tap on your shoulders can add a touch of style and warmth when needed. I love thin layers such as long-sleeves tops or cardigan that can cover you up while being breathable.

6. Effortless Hair and Makeup

Keeping your hair perfect while sailing can be quite tricky. Instead, Embrace the windswept look by styling your hair in loose beachy waves or a casual bun. Avoid intricate hairstyles that might get disrupted by the wind. Flattening your hair with a fixer is also a great alternatives to bun that won’t move with the wind.

For what concerns make up, it’s better to keep it light and fresh – think tinted moisturizer, a touch of bronzer, a lip pencil touch, and a swipe of waterproof mascara for that subtle glamour.

7. Stay True To Yourself

When you’re a newcomer to the world of opulence, resist the temptation to transform into a diva merely due to your immersion in the finer things. it’s remarkably simple to develop this type of syndrome of treating people as less good than you. This is truly sad and something that I cannot understand. Instead, stay grounded, authentic and true to yourself.

Lastly, demonstrate kindness and grace towards others, extend gratitude to the host and crew, and foster amiability among fellow passengers. Aspire to be the kind of lady who garners repeat invitations through her demeanor!

You will find some of the looks I would wear or I wore on a boat linked below.
